Man Charged With Having Sex With Minor In Hotel Found Dead

The Connecticut resident was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Connecticut man who was accused Tuesday of having sex with a child in a Poughkeepsie hotel was found dead two days later. The body of Eric J. Fenyes, 46, was found Thursday at a Kent, Connecticut, residence around 4:15 p.m.

Connecticut State Police said there was no criminal aspect to the investigation and that the manner of death was suicide, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

There was a gunshot wound to Fenyes' head, authorities said.

Fenyes, who lived in Sherman, Connecticut, had been arraigned and charged with second-degree criminal sex act, a felony.

He was scheduled to appear in Town of Poughkeepsie Court Friday.
