Man Punches Car In Road Rage Incident: Police

The alleged incident happened in the Town of Pine Plains.

PINE PLAINS, NY — A Dutchess County man faces a felony charge related to a road rage incident. State police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested William H. Smith III, 55, of Pine Plains, and charged him with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Troopers were sent Oct. 24 to Church Street in the Town of Pine Plains.

The victim told them that, during a road rage incident, an unknown man punched his car, which was later found to have caused more than $1,500 in damages.

An investigation identified the man as Smith, who was subsequently arrested.

He was arraigned in the Town of Pine Plains Court and released on his own recognizance.
