Middletown Man Tries To Kill Someone At Storage Facility

FISHKILL, NY — Police have accused an Orange County man of trying to kill someone at a storage facility in Fishkill.

The New York State Police said Jamal A. Alsayes, 46, of Middletown, was charged Saturday with first-degree attempted murder.

He seriously assaulted Tarek C. Hardanger, 66, of Fishkill, police said, shortly, before 9 a.m. Friday at the EZ Storage facility on Route 9D in the town of Fishkill.

Hardanger was taken to Westchester Medical Center by Beacon Voluntary Ambulance services in critical condition, officials said.

Alsayes was arrested Friday without incident. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fishkill Court Wednesday.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said, and there was no direct danger to the community.
