Mount Peter Kicks Off 2017-2018 Ski Season
The ski area is family owned and operated.

WARWICK, NY — With the recent snow and a week of solid snowmaking, Mount Peter Ski Area, for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, kicks off its 2017-2018 season Saturday, Dec. 16. “The cold temperatures are what we needed to blow snow, our snowmakers are hard at work doing what they do best! We invite everyone to come celebrate another wonderful season with us,” said Carol Forshay, marketing director of Mount Peter.
Hailey’s Comet will be operating from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will offer access to all open terrain. Check the snow report for conditions and trail openings.
Guests can take advantage of discounted lift tickets; lift ticket pricing and trail openings are available online at mtpeter.com or call the snow phone 845-986-4940 and press “1”.

Mount Peter will be open seven days a week starting Dec. 16. Mount Peter is closed Christmas Day.
This season, Mount Peter added a new Quad Lift. The new lift’s four-person chair will provide access to the beginner and intermediate terrain.
All services will be available on opening day, including ski and snowboard rentals, and if you forget anything, you can stop in to Pete’s Closet, the mountains retail shop. Mountain School lessons are starting on opening day for all levels including the famous free beginner lessons for snowboarders and skiers.
Pete’s Café and Pete’s Pub will be open for food, beverages and steamy hot cocoa.
The snow tubing hill is also opening. A carpet lift makes getting to the top easy and there's an awesome 600-foot ride down. Tubing has party packages and group rates, reservations are recommended. Check for operating hours at mtpeter.com/tubing.
“Our 2017-2018 season continues an 82-year tradition of Mount Peter being family-focused,” Forshay said. “There are very few family owned and run ski areas left in the United States. That’s what we are, and that is our goal to create such a family-oriented atmosphere here that people love and return to us season after season.”
Mount Peter is located at 51 Old Mount Peter Road in Warwick. For more information, call 845-986-4940; for the snow phone press “1” or visit www.mtpeter.com.
