ELLENVILLE, NY — An Ellenvillle man was accused of breaking into a home Christmas Eve after being found naked and sexually aroused by a 12-year-old girl.

Police said the burglary happened around 6 a.m. Thursday in the village of Ellenville.

The investigation found that Ulysee had crawled through a front window of the apartment, police said, and went into a back bedroom where two 12-year-old girls were sleeping.

Investigators said one of the girls was awakened by the noise in her room and saw the man, who was completely naked and physically aroused.

The child confronted the man and yelled for him to leave, police said.

Ulysee saw that the other child was awake as well and left the residence, according to authorities.

Police said the girls' mother was awakened by the confrontation, and the girls told her what had happened.

The mother then grabbed a knife, police said, and went after Ulysee as he was leaving.

Police said Ulysee was quickly identified and located by Ellenville officers a short while later driving a car.

He was stopped and taken into custody after a brief struggle, according to authorities.

Ulysee was processed and arraigned on the charges and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail or $500,000 property bond.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Dec. 29.

Ellenville Police Chief Philip S. Mattracion said the 12-year-old victim is to be commended for her actions.

"There were three other people in that apartment, one being a 5-year-old girl," he said.

"This brave young lady acted with extreme bravery, and without hesitation, or fear, and at great personal risk to her own safety, she confronted this suspect, and thankfully we will never know what might have happened if not for her heroic actions," Mattracion said.
