NC Man Arrested In NY With Stolen Car: Police
Police initially stopped the man for a vehicle and traffic violation.

WOODBURY, NY — State police arrested a North Carolina man for allegedly stealing a car. Jacob C. Hawks, 19, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and vehicle and traffic violations.
Police said that, around 11:20 a.m. Oct. 20, a car was stopped on I-87 in the Town of Woodbury for a vehicle and traffic violation.
It was determined that the vehicle was reported stolen by the Davie County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina on Oct. 15, police said.

Hawks was taken into custody and processed at the Newburgh barracks.
He was arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $4,500 bail or $9,000 bond.

A return court cate of Oct. 25 was set for the Town of Woodbury Court.
