New Hackensack Fire Chief Rescues Man from Attic During House Fire

Rescuers knew the man was in the house but couldn't locate him at first.

Wappingers Falls, NY — The New Hackensack Fire Chief Anthony Marquez saved a village resident’s life Monday by rescuing him from an attic apartment that was on fire.

The initial search for the man didn’t find him, but Marquez entered the structure and climbed the stairs to the attic where he found the man still breathing but unconscious, an article at the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
