New Jersey Man Killed Falling from Kaaterskill Falls
The 17-year-old was hiking with friends and relatives.

HUNTER, NY — A New Jersey man was killed Wednesday after he fell off of Kaaterskill Falls in the Town of Hunter in Greene County.
State police said Ezra Kennedy, 17, of Westfield, NJ, was hiking with a group of relatives and friends when he reached the top of the lower falls.
The preliminary investigation found that, as he neared the edge, he lost his footing on the wet rock causing him to slip and fall about 50 feet to the rocks below.

Kennedy was extricated from the scene by members of the Twin Clove Rope Rescue Team.
State police do not suspect any foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

In addition to the state police, the Town of Hunter Police, New York State Forest Rangers, Tannersville Fire Department and the Greene County Paramedics responded to the scene.
