Newburgh Woman Accused of Smuggling Drugs into Prison: Police
She faces two felony charges.

FISHKILL, NY — A Newburgh woman was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into a prison.
State Police said Brittany D. Shay, 39, was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.
An investigation found that Shay brought suboxone into the Fishkill Correctional Facility with the intent of giving it to an inmate, police said.

She was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court and released on her own recognizance.
Shay was due to appear in the Town of Fishkill Court Jan. 11.
