Newburgh Woman Arrested After Crash Was More Than 2X Legal Alcohol Limit: Police

Police said the police rear ended a car, forcing it off the road.

NEWBURGH, NY — A Newburgh woman was arrested in Rockland County after a two-car accident Saturday.

Police responded to the crash which was on I-87 southbound near Exit 15 in Hillburn.

Alyse L. Gotz, 34, of Newburgh, driving a Nissan Altima, rear ended an Audi A6, forcing the Audi of the road. No one was injured in the crash.

Police said Gotz was intoxicated and she was taken to the Tarrytown barracks, where her blood alcohol was determined to be 0.22 percent.

She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Gotz was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets to the Village of Hillburn Court Nov. 29.
