NJ Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Child

Police said the man was a suspect in a 2016 report that was being investigated in Sullivan County.

MONTICELLO, NY — A New Jersey man was accused of sexually assaulting a child in Sullivan County.

On Monday, the New York State Police Sullivan County Child Abuse Unit arrested Terrence Riley, 54, of Newark, New Jersey.

He was a suspect, police said, in a 2016 hotline report investigated by the state police and Child Protective Services in Sullivan County.

Riley left the area soon after, authorities said.

He was charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, a felony.

Riley was arraigned in the Monticello Justice Court and sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
