NJ Man Arrested In NY With 3 Pounds Of Pot: Police
Police said they found probably cause to search the man's vehicle.

COXSACKIE, NY — A New Jersey man was arrested after being stopped for a traffic violation on I-87 in the Town of Coxsackie, Greene County. State police said Derrick A. Vaz, 52, of Bergenfield, NJ was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and a vehicle and traffic violation.
Police said they stopped his vehicle around 2:45 p.m. July 21. During the interview, troopers said probable cause was established to search the vehicle and Vaz.
He was found to be in possession of about 3.2 pounds of marijuana.

Vaz was taken into custody.
He was arraigned in the Town of New Baltimore Court and sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.

A return court date was set for July 26 in the Town of Coxsackie Court.
