NJ Teen Killed In Crash With Dump Truck In Orange County
The initial police investigation found the teen failed to yield the right of way.

WAWAYANDA, NY — A 17-year-old was killed early Wednesday morning in an Orange County car crash. State Police said Andrew Van Dyke, 17, of Highland Lake, NJ was driving a 2009 Toyota RAV4 north on County Route 93.
An investigation found that he failed to yield the right of way and struck a 2005 Peterbilt 375 dump truck that was traveling west on State Route 284.
Van Dyke was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the truck — Jeremey Hermida, 28, was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
