NY Police Charge Unlicensed NJ Driver Of Overcrowded Vehicle With DWI

The Passaic, New Jersey resident was driving 10 passengers including a 4-year-old in a vehicle that can hold 6, New York State police said.

NEWBURGH, NY — A Passaic, New Jersey man faces a felony charge of driving while intoxicated as well as other charges after a traffic stop on Route 9W in the Hudson Valley.

New York State police said a trooper stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado at 7:10 p.m. Sunday and identified the operator as Marco Martinez Pinzon, 35.

The trooper discovered that Pinzon was unlicensed concluded that he was intoxicated.

He also counted 11 occupants in a vehicle that only seats 6 people. One of the passengers was a four-year-old.

Martinez-Pinzon had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .17 percent, police said.

He was charged with Felony DWI Leandra’s Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor.

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Newburgh Court on Oct. 12.
