NYC Man Killed In Amenia Crash

Police said the man failed to stop at a stop sign.

AMENIA, NY — A New York City man was killed Wednesday in a crash with a sanitation truck in Dutchess County.

The New York State Police said Christian P. Brink, 37, of Brooklyn, was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry south on Route 83 around 4:15 p.m.

Police said he was approaching Route 44 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection.

Brink then made a left-hand turn east on Route 44 directly in the path of a westbound 2008 Peterbilt sanitation truck.

Both he and his passenger were taken to Sharon Hospital in Connecticut by Northern Dutchess Paramedics.

Brink died of his injuries, police said.

His passenger is in stable condition with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Police said the investigation in ongoing.
