NYC School Employee Accused Of Luring A Child, Attempted Rape
A separate charge is pending in Kings County.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — A Brooklyn school employee was arrested for attempting to lure a teenager to a mid-Hudson Valley hotel. The State Police Troop F Child Abuse Unit in Sullivan County said Abraham Silverberg, 51, of Brooklyn, was charged with luring a child and third-degree attempted rape, felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Police said that Silverberg, who is an employee at PS 116 in Manhattan, tried to lure the teenager to a hotel in Sullivan County for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct.
The investigation also found that Silverberg engaged in sexual conduct with a child less than 13 years old while living in Kings County, police said. That information led to a joint investigation with Troop NYC Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Brooklyn.
