Officer Tried To Smuggle K2 Into Prison: Police Say
The correction officer has since resigned from his position.

ELLENVILLE, NY — A state correction officer was accused of trying to bring synthetic pot into the Wallkill Correctional Facility in the Town of Shawangunk. State police said Travon Webb, 30, of Ellenville, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree prison contraband, felonies, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and official misconduct of a public servant, misdemeanors.
On Feb. 25, Webb was arrested after a search of employees entering the facility found he was trying to smuggle in about 64 grams of synthetic marijuana, or K2, police said.
An additional search of Webb's personal vehicle found another 137 grams of K2, according to authorities.

He was employed as a state correction officer at Wallkill Correctional Facility, but has since resigned.
Webb was arraigned in the Town of Shawangunk Court and sent to the Ulster Count Jail in lieu of bail. His return court date is set for March 18.
