Goshen, N.Y. - Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus announced on Wednesday that the County’s Arts Grants Program has been funded for 2016.

The grant program was part of the 2016 County budget. The initiative promotes economic development through art sponsorships.

“Orange County is a place of great creativity,” Neuhaus said. “The arts play a major part in the culture of Orange County and improving the quality of life in our communities. This grants program will be helpful in, not only promoting the arts, but pumping life into our economy.”

The County will be reviewing the Art Grants Program with a new approach this year, examining what programs, organizations and venues have worked best in the past, and how to improve them moving forward. The County has historically provided grants of no more than $5,000 annually. A total of $40,000 will be allocated for the 2016 Art Grants Program.
