Orange County Man Tried To Kill State Troopers: NYSP
Authorities said he faces two felony attempted murder charges.

DEERPARK, NY — Charges have been filed against the Orange County man who was accused of shooting at law enforcement officers.
The New York State Police said Patrick Hermanowski, 39, of Westbrookville, was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder of a police officer and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.
He was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and sent to the Sullivan County Jail.

Troopers were sent Sunday to a home on Route 209 in the hamlet of Westbrookville in the town of Deerpark for a report of a domestic dispute. The report indicated there was a man inside the home shooting a weapon.
When law enforcement got to the home, Hermanowski fled from the scene and was found hiding in an abandoned Airstream trailer in Wurtsboro, Sullivan County.

As troopers approached, they said he fired his weapon at them from inside the trailer.
Troopers returned fire and Hermanowski was taken into custody.
He was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
No troopers were injured, police said.
