Orange County Motorcyclist Killed In I-84 Crash

Police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his cycle.

WALLKILL, NY — An Orange County man was killed in a single motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 in the town of Wallkill.

The New York State Police said the crash happened shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday.

An investigation found that Stephen J. Nemeth, 27, of Highland Mills, was traveling west on a 2016 BMW motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the bike and struck a guiderail, police said.

He was ejected from the motorcycle, and authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
