2 Arrested in Orange County with Pot, Hallucinogenic Mushrooms

The men were stopped on I-87 for a traffic violation.

TUXEDO, NY — Two New York City men were arrested Saturday on illegal drugs charges.

State Police said the vehicle in which Joseph N. Lauro, 25, of Staten Island, and a 25-year-old Brooklyn man, were traveling was stopped on I-87 for a traffic violation.

They were found to be in possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana, police said.

The pair was arrested and taken for processing to the Monroe barracks.

Both men were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

The two were arraigned before the Town of Tuxedo Court and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or $3,000 bond.
