Parolee Tried To Flee From Cops On Electric Bike: Police
The 5-time convicted felon was in possession of narcotics at the time of arrest, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Dutchess County man's flight from justice was short-lived, thanks in part to his choice of transportation, according to cops.
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department said that on Wednesday, around 7:30 p.m., detectives from the Neighborhood Recovery Unit found 55-year-old Andre Hendrix on Marshall Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.. He had been named in a search warrant as part of an investigation into drug sales in the area of Pershing Avenue.
Hendrix tried to flee on an electric bicycle and then on foot, but was apprehended with the help of the NYSP Community Stabilization Unit.

After a search, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of narcotics. Police say that Hendrix was a 5-time convicted felon under the supervision of NYS Parole at the time of his arrest.
He was taken to headquarters and charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and held pending arraignment.
