Pedestrian Seriously Injured By Car In Wappinger
Police said the man was believed to be walking west in an eastbound lane when he was struck.
WAPPINGER, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car crash Tuesday in the town of Wappinger.
The New York State Police said troopers were sent around 7:45 p.m. to New Hamburg Road for a pedestrian struck by a car.
Terrance J. Hector, 37, of Wappinger, was found with serious injuries and was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital by EMStar.

Police said the initial investigation found that a 2004 Hyundai Elantra was traveling east on New Hamburg Road in the area where there was a curve without street lamps.
Hector was believed to have been walking west in the eastbound lane wearing dark clothing when he was struck.

The Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit was at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
