Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Amtrak Train At Station Is Identified As 68-Year-Old Woman

RHINEBECK, NY — A tragedy at a Hudson Valley train station has left a woman dead.

On Saturday, at 7:46 a.m., New York State Police in Rhinebeck responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train at the Rhinecliff Train Station on Rhinecliff Road.

Investigators said a 68-year-old woman stepped onto the train tracks and was then struck by an Amtrak train.The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
