State police received a complaint about possible animal abuse from a veterinary hospital.

LAGRANGE, NY — A Poughkeepsie woman was arrested for letting her dog die by not giving it enough food. State police said Erica L Feliciano, 31, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with a misdemeanor under Section 353 of the Agriculture and Markets Law, Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals; Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance.

Troopers said they received a complaint from a veterinary hospital may 9 about possible animal abuse.

An investigation, in conjunction with the veterinarian’s findings, found that Feliciano’s pit bull died due to lack of food for an extended period of time.
