Police said she was standing in the roadway when she was hit by a car.
WASHINGTON, NY — A motor vehicle collision June 6 claimed the life of a Pleasant Valley woman. State police said the collision occurred around 9:15 p.m. June 6 on State Route 82 in the Town of Washington.
The initial investigation found that a white 2006 BMW 325 was parked southbound on Route 82 near South Road in the center of the lane of travel with its vehicle flashers on.
The driver of the BMW — Hope A. McLucas, 54, of Pleasant Valley — got out of her car, possibly to attend to raccoons on or near the roadway, and was standing in the northbound lane when she was struck and killed by a 2011 Toyota Tundra.
