Police Investigating Attempted Abduction In Red Hook
Police are asking if anyone in the area at the time saw anything.
RED HOOK, NY — An attempted abduction in Red Hook is being investigated by police. Authorities said the incident happened shortly before 6 p.m. Monday on East Market Street.
A 12-year-old reported he was approached by a shorter white man who had gray facial hair and possibly gray hair.
The boy said the man was driving a blue Chevy pickup truck, possibly a four-door.

The 12-year-old said he was walking west into the Village of Red Hook on East Market Street when the man pulled up next to him and said, "Hi, I know your father."
When the child didn't respond, the man got out of his truck and tried to approach him.

That was when the child ran away. The man left, heading east on Route 199.
Red Hook police are asking any motorists or anyone in the area of East Market Street who might have witnessed anything to call them at 845-758-0060.
