Police Probe Bus Fight On The New York State Thruway

Both men were injured, state troopers said.

NEWBURGH, NY — State police are investigating a fight between two men traveling on a bus from Albany to New York City.

They were called to Interstate 87 at 7 p.m. Friday by a call from a commercial bus driver who pulled onto the shoulder when the fight began. There were about 30 passengers on board, police said.

Troopers were assisted by Town of Newburgh Police.

Both men were injured during the fight. The alleged victim was treated on the scene for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The other man is in custody, they said.

All lanes remained open during the incident and there was no impact on New York State Thruway traffic. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available, police said.
