Police Seek More Victims Of Accused Child Sex Abuser

The arrest was the culmination of an investigation at an unlicensed daycare in Orange County.

NEWBURGH, NY — A Newburgh man is accused of child sexual abuse and police are searching for more victims.

The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Orange County announced the arrest of Rudy Rodriguez, aka Rudy Rodriguez Erzo, on Thursday.

The arrest was the culmination of an investigation at an unlicensed daycare in the city of Newburgh by State Police in conjunction with Child Protective Services.

Rodriguez, 40, was charged with Sex Abuse 1st (D Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a child (A Misdemeanor). He was processed through the state police barracks in Montgomery and remanded to Orange County Jail for pre-arraignment detention then arraigned later Thursday morning in the City Newburgh Court before being released on $5,000 cash bail.

Police are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Rodriguez to contact the Orange County Child Abuse at the state police barracks in Middletown at 845-344-5300.
