Police Seek Public's Help On Fatal Crash In Gardiner

Two drivers collided and one died.

ULSTER COUNTY, NY — New York State police are seeking the public’s assistance with an investigation of a two-car crash that killed a Poughkeepsie man at 5:50 p.m. Sept. 19 in the town of Gardiner.

George Downing, 53, was headed west on State Route 299 and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Hope Genattcarlino, 53, of Pine Bush, according to the Daily Freeman.

Downing was declared dead after the crash. Genattcarlino was transported to the MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie with neck pain, the paper said.
