Pool Hall Arrest Followed Undercover Sting, Task Force Raid Of Hudson Valley Home: DA

The investigation has been going on for several months after Drug Task Force agents identified the suspected drug dealer, cops said.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A drug trafficking probe led to an arrest at a Dutchess County pool hall, according to authorities.

The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force said 52-year-old Daryl L. Jackson was arrested at the Julliet Billard Café on Raymond Avenue, in the Town of Poughkeepsie, in relation to drug sales in the area.

The investigation has been going on for several months after Drug Task Force agents identified Jackson as a drug dealer suspect operating out of a home on Jean Drive in the Spackenkill Poughkeepsie area as well as other locations. Drug Task Force agents made several narcotic purchases from Jackson during the probe, according to the DA.

On the evening of Feb. 24, undercover Drug Task Force agents arrested Jackson at the Julliet Billiard Café where he was found to be in possession of a large quantity of narcotics packaged for sale, according to police. Shortly after his arrest, Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant on Jean Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie where additional evidence of drug sales was seized, cops said. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office assisted at both scenes.

Jackson was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Law enforcement said several other charges are pending against Jackson related to the investigation.

Jackson was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail, without bail.
