Possible Coronavirus Exposure​ At Middletown Store

Orange County health officials said the possible exposure occurred on three separate days.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — Orange County health officials are warning about a possible exposure to the new coronavirus at a store in Middletown.

The health department said people who worked at or visited the AT&T store at 330 Route 211 East in Middletown, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, Saturday, Oct. 17 or Monday, Oct. 19, may have been exposed to the virus.

Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman said, if you think were at the store during the time frame, you need to watch for symptoms of having been infected, which may include but not be limited to fever, chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea.

She also said that people should consider any public site in Orange County as a potential site of coronavirus exposure, due to a persistent increase in newly diagnosed cases throughout the county.

Gelman said the best way to prevent the spread of the virus was to continue adhering to proper safety measures such as wearing a mask, avoiding unnecessary contact with others and practicing basic personal hygiene, including frequently and thoroughly washing your hands and refraining from touching your face.

If you feel ill, contact your healthcare provider first, but do not go directly to the doctor's office, emergency room or other healthcare facilities before calling.
