Possible New Accusations For Former Car Salesman
More possible victims have come forward saying the car salesman may have been involved in real estate dealings, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — State police are looking into new accusations concerning a former car salesman who may have stolen down payments from customers. Police said that more people have come forward to report that Michael Edison Ramos, 34, of Middletown, took down payments from them.
State police in Middletown are now looking for victims who may have dealt with Ramos while he was acting as a realtor in the Middletown area.
Anyone who feels they may have been victimized as a result of their dealings with Ramos is asked to call Investigator Joseph Dawson at the Middletown barracks at 845-344-5352.

On June 26, after a three-month investigation into the theft of cash down payments at a car dealership, state police arrested Ramos. They had been alerted to the thefts in March after a customer of Nissan-Kia Middletown realized that they had not been credited by the dealership for the full amount of their downpayment.
The ensuing investigation identified several additional victims, police said.

Ramos was arrested on June 19 and charged in both the towns of Wallkill and Wawayanda with third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree falsifying business records, first-degree scheme to defraud, felonies, and possession of personal identification information, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
Police said the investigation revealed that many of the victims are Spanish speaking. The state police provided the following information in Spanish in an effort to locate more possible victims.
