Poughkeepsie To Hold 'End-Of-Summer' Fireworks
The Walkway Over the Hudson is selling tickets for people to view the fireworks from the bridge.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — If you missed having fireworks during the July 4 weekend, you will have an opportunity later this month to get an eyeful of them in the city of Poughkeepsie.
The city, along with Vassar Brothers Medical Center and Marshall & Sterling Insurance, will present an "end-of-summer" fireworks display Sunday, Aug. 29.
The free event will close out "Upstate Immersive," a sculpture event being held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28-29 at Dongan Park and the site of the former Pelton Mansion in Wheaton Park.

Viewing of the fireworks will be good from Dongan and Wheaton parks as well as Waryas Park on the Hudson River.
The Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park is taking the opportunity to offer a spectacular view of the fireworks — from the bridge itself.

Tickets are now on sale for the Aug. 29 event. They are $20 for general admission; $15 for Walkway members, seniors or veterans. Children under 10 are free, but must be registered and possess a valid ticket.
The park will close at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29 for set up and re-open around 6:30 p.m.
Everyone entering the park after 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 must present proof of ticket purchase (printed or digital on smartphone) to enter the Walkway.
The fireworks are expected to begin between 8:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Walkway will remain open for one hour after the conclusion of the event.
The rain date is Saturday, Sept. 4.
