Poughkeepsie Library System Reopens To Public
The number of people allowed in the buildings will be restricted to 50 percent of capacity.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — The Poughkeepsie Public Library District announced that it is reopening to the public. There are, however, restrictions.
Library officials said, in this phase of limited service, the public will be able to browse the collection and borrow materials, but the number of people in the buildings will be restricted to 50 percent of capacity.
“Inevitably, there’s a tension between access and safety,” said library Director Tom Lawrence. “We want to cater to our patrons who desperately want to use our services, but of course, we have to make sure we’re protecting everyone’s health. We hope our patrons will understand this dilemma and will be patient as we gradually return to our normal service.”
