Poughkeepsie Man Accused Of Having Illegal Handgun

LAGRANGE, NY — A Poughkeepsie man was accused of having an illegal weapon after a traffic stop. The New York State Police said troopers stopped a 2015 Honda Civic shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday on Noxon Road in the town of Lagrange.

An investigation found that Derick M. Mima, 31, of Poughkeepsie, was illegally in possession of a Ruger .22 caliber pistol.

He was virtually arraigned before the Town of Lagrange Court and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.

Mima was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to reappear in court Aug. 4.
