Poughkeepsie Man Arrested On Thruway On Drug Charges
Troopers stopped him initially for vehicle and traffic violations.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — State Police arrested a Poughkeepsie man for felony drug possession Oct. 8 after being stopped for a traffic violation. Police said Jeffery Desir, 33, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana, violations.
During a routing patrol near the Exit 23 tolls of the Thruway in the City of Albany, Troopers said they stopped Desir for vehicle and traffic violations and detected an odor of marijuana coming from his car. A search of the vehicle and Desir found marijuana and crack cocaine, police said.

He was arrested and arraigned in the City of Albany Court.
Desir is being held in the Albany County Jail on $5,000 bail.
