Poughkeepsie Man Charged With Murder Of Woman At Fish And Game Club

The shooting happened at the Pleasant Valley Trout and Game Club.

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Poughkeepsie man in connection with a death of a woman that occurred at game club. Rosario Curcio, 70, was charged with second-degree murder, a felony, after Lana Florio, 56, of Poughkeepsie, was found critically injured with an apparent gunshot to the head around 12:45 p.m. Oct. 3.

Florio, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was acquainted with Curcio, officials said, adding that there was never a threat to the public.

After Curcio was processed, he was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and sent to the Dutchess County jail without bail.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Police.
