Poughkeepsie Shooting: Teen Accused Of Attempted Murder

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A teenager has been accused of second-degree attempted murder in relation to a shooting Monday in the City of Poughkeepsie. The 15-year-old, who was not named, was charged and arraigned and sent to secure detention without bail.
The shooting occurred Monday afternoon in the area of South Cherry and Church streets.
Two people were shot. One was a 28-year-old man who was found with a gunshot wound to the head, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. The other victim, a 41-year-old, was shot in the leg.

Authorities said the 41-year-old was an innocent bystander who happened to be walking by at the time.
He was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle, midhudsonnews.com said.

The man who was shot in the head was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he is in critical condition.
