Poughkeepsie Woman Accused Of Stealing Car, Trading It In

Police said she forged a title for the car she allegedly stole.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A Poughkeepsie woman was arrested Monday for stealing a car and tradi it in for a new one. State Police said there were contacted by a Rome, Oneida County, man in January who reported that an acquaintance had traded in his 2001 Mercedes Benz at a Poughkeepsie car dealership without his permission.

An investigation found that Victoria R. Serino, 26, allegedly possessed a forged title for the Mercedes and submitted an application to the Department of Motor Vehicles for a new title in her name.

After she received the title, she allegedly traded the Mercedes in for a 2016 Mazda.
