
BEEKMAN, NY — A Poughkeepsie woman faces felony charges for stealing and forging a check. State Police said Daria E. Murtagh, 38, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with second-degree forgery and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies.
Troopers responded to a complaint about a stolen check in Chelsea Cove in the Town of Beekman.
An investigation found Murtagh fraudulently forged the victim’s signature and then cashed the check in the amount of $1,100.75 at Wells Forgo Bank in Pougkeepise, police said.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Beekman Justice Court Nov. 9.
