Prescription Drug Drop-Off Set In Pawling

The drive-through event is being held outdoors.

PAWLING, NY — New York State Senator Pete Harckham will host a prescription drug drop-off event from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 9 at Lakeside Park, 2 Lakeside Drive, in Pawling. A deputy from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office will be on site to collect medications for their disposal.

Please note that no needles or liquids will be collected at this drop-off. This is an outdoor, drive-through event.

Harckham said this would be an excellent opportunity to make sure that old, unused medications around the home are disposed of safely.

“Frankly, prescription drugs that are no longer needed pose health risks, and flushing them down the toilet adversely impacts our environment," he said. "So, I appreciate everyone taking the time to get rid of their old prescriptions in a responsible manner.”
