President Trump To Give West Point Commencement Address

The size and the scope of the ceremony will be determined.

WEST POINT, NY — President Donald Trump will speak at the U.S. Military Academy's Class of 2020 graduation ceremony. Commencement will be held Saturday, June 13 in West Point.

According to a spokesperson, this will be the president's first visit as graduation speaker.

Officials said the size and the scope of the ceremony will be determined by safety considerations for cadets and the entire West Point community.

The Class of 2020 will return to the campus in time for the graduation ceremony. Academy leadership is conducting a thorough analysis and plan for the safe return of the corps of cadets.

Vice President Mike Pence delivered a commencement address at the U.S. Air Force Academy April 18 in Colorado. There was a scaled-down ceremony with hundreds of graduating cadets sitting 8 feet apart.

The ceremony was closed to visitors, family and friends of the nearly 1,000 graduates.
