Queens Woman Killed In Taconic State Parkway Accident
Police said the woman lost control of her car in a heavy rain and went off the roadway.
STANFORD, NY — A Queens woman was killed in a car crash Thursday on the Taconic State Parkway in Dutchess County.
The New York State Police said troopers were sent around 12:45 p.m. Thursday to the area of mile marker 62 of the northbound side of the Taconic in the town of Stanford for a vehicle that went off the roadway.
A 2008 Honda Fit was found in the center median, police said.

It was being driven by Fatos Kaba, 65, of Queens.
The initial investigation found she lost control of the car during a heavy rainfall, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Kaba died of her injuries.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office were also on scene.
