HUDSON VALLEY, NY — April showers and big temperature changes are expected in the coming days in the Hudson Valley, with thunderstorms possible, according to meteorologists.
The National Weather Service in New York predicts a few passing showers today and into this afternoon, followed by a line of showers late this afternoon and into tonight.

While today will be another warm one, expect a big change for Thursday.
“A back door cold front brings much cooler temperatures on Thursday,” the National Weather Service reports. “Chilly and raw with temperatures mainly in the 40s on Thursday!”

There is a chance of rain every day through the end of the holiday weekend, though most days will also have periods of sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.
After Thursday’s chilly weather, temperatures are expected to “rebound quickly for the rest of the weekend,” the National Weather Service predicts.
Friday’s high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s, while Saturday could reach into the low to mid 70s. Temperatures will be slightly cooler for Easter Sunday, with highs in the mid-60s, according to meteorologists.
Here are the forecast details for the lower Hudson Valley area via the National Weather Service:
Today: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Showers, mainly before 5 a.m. Patchy fog after 2 a.m. Low around 42. East wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before 2 p.m. Patchy fog before 2 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 46. East wind around 14 mph.
Thursday Night: A chance of drizzle or light rain. Areas of fog after 8pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 41. East wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Friday: A slight chance of drizzle or light rain before 11 a.m. Areas of fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
