Red Hook District Voters OK Auditorium Construction

The high school currently uses a gymnasium for performance.

RED HOOK, NY — Voters in the Red Hook school district approved a $10 million bond proposition to build an auditorium at Red Hook High School. The district said the vote tally was 1,637 in favor and 615 against.

The school uses a gymnasium that has stage for performances now, the Daily Freeman said.

A state Dormitory Authority grant is expected to fund $3.5 million for the project.

Dutchess County Executive, and Red Hook High School graduate, Marcus Molinaro said in a Facebook post that the project will “enhance and broaden our kids’ education and further enrich their learning.”
