Red Hook Man Accused Of Raping Minor

According to authorities, the man was not a stranger to the child.

RED HOOK, NY — A Red Hook man was accused of raping a child under the age of 15.

The New York State Police said Zachuriah McBride, 21, of Red Hook, was charged Thursday with two counts of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree criminal sex act, all felonies.

Police said they received a tip about a possible sexual assault.

The investigation found McBride raped a child under the age of 15 on multiple occasions, police said.

According to authorities, he knew the victim.

McBride was arraigned in the Town of Red Hook Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, $50,000 bond or $100,000 partially secure bond

He is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 12.
