Road Work, Delays On Route 17 Overnight Thursday

WOODBURY, NY — Brief traffic stoppages and various single lane closings are expected to occur Thursday eastbound on Route 17 between US Route 6 and NY Route 17/NY Route 32.

The night work will take place from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting, between Exit 130A and Exit 131.

Anticipate delays and seek alternate routes where possible.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver license.
