Rollover Crash Takes Life Of Arlington HS Student

The driver of the car remains in critical condition.

LAGRANGE, NY — An Arlington High School student is dead after in a one-car rollover collision that occurred Wednesday. State Police said Ryan Mucci, 17, of LaGrange, died Thursday of injuries he sustained in the crash. Mucci was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Dillon F. Colon, of LaGrange.

Police said that at about 2:35 p.m. Wednesday they responded to the area of 60 Todd Hill Rd. in the Town of LaGrange on reports of a car rollover.

A preliminary investigation found that a Chevy Malibu, driven by Colon, was traveling westbound on Todd Hill Road.

The car left the northern shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.

Both occupants had to be extricated from the car and were taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Mucci succumbed to his injuries. Colon remains in critical condition.

State Police said the cause of the collision is still under investigation, but they said speed was believed to be a contributing factor.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation by calling 845-677-7300.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. Also on scene were the LaGrange Fire Department and the Arlington Fire Department.

Counselors will be available for students at Arlington High School during school hours, police said.
