POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — A local landmark is embarking on a new venture, adding a second location on the east side of Poughkeepsie. Roticceria Rossi & Sons will open an additional brick-and-mortar deli at Eastdale Village.

The Eastdale Village location, slated to open in Fall 2020, will be Rossi’s second deli, with the flagship remaining on South Clover Street in Poughkeepsie.

“Opening a second location was simply the right next step for the business, which continues to grow year after year,” said Roberto Rossi. “We’re thrilled to open an additional brick and mortar deli from the ground up and doing so at Eastdale Village is the perfect collaboration. They have guided us through the entire process from identifying a location and the necessary space size to gathering all needed entitlement approvals.”

Rossi’s flagship originally opened in 1979 as an Italian grocery store by Poughkeepsie residents Giovanni and Angelina Rossi and Ms. Rossi’s brother Victor Trocino, who immigrated to the region from Italy. Today, it is run by the Rossi’s three sons, Fabio, Mauro and Roberto, and has grown into a catering company as well as a local landmark.

“Unlike any other development in the region, Eastdale Village is creating a lifestyle where life, work, and play intersect,” said Joseph Kirchhoff, founder of Kirchhoff Companies, the developers behind Eastdale Village. “We’re elated and honored to welcome the region’s best and most beloved Italian deli as an essential piece of the community we’re building here at Eastdale.”
